The game scales properly up to around 3:1 aspect ratio (27:9) before stretching, and can be modded to support wider aspect ratios than that. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus does it well. Obviously it would be better if it was properly tested and any issues are fixed, but I don't think that anyone with a wider-than-16:9 setup would care about visual glitches in cutscenes vs missing 1/3 or more of your display during gameplay. Those of us with non-16:9 displays don't care about any potential glitches if they don't affect gameplay. Or hide the option in a config file or launch command instead of removing or even blocking the ability to use non-16:9 resolutions. It's mostly that developers don't want to deal with testing anything other than 16:9, or never even considered it.ДЄll it needs is a warning in the game about it.

In many cases the only thing you're required to do is hex-edit the value for '1.78' to '2.39' in the executable to change the aspect ratio and it works flawlessly.
